Why is Valeting better than a traditional
car-wash?
Sceptics may believe that Valeting is a waste of money, and
that it is better value to take their car to a drive through
car wash or jet wash, or to wash their car themselves.
This can be false economy,
because the chemicals used in garage car washes can be harsh
on paintwork and can actually dull the paint over time.
Brush type car washes can also cause scratch or swirl marks
on bodywork over a period of time. Jet washes can also
damage bodywork as some of them are very powerful, and can
cause grit to be blasted into the paint surface!
The finish you get from these car washes is also not as high
quality as Valeting, as it is generally a quick job, and
only removes the top coat of dirt. A good example of this is
the cars wheels. Many modern cars today come with expensive
alloy wheels as standard. Alloy wheels get dirty very
easily, and can become stained with black brake dust. A car
wash will only remove some of this dirt, and the finish will
never look as good as what can be achieved by Valeting.
